This is a photo of the house when it was originally build in 1928. Mr. W.J. Leverette built it as his family residence and moved into the house in September 1928. The design an d plans were the result of months of thought and drawings by Mr. and Mrs. Leverette who both had considerable experience with house building. The adobes were hauled in and stored. The basement was dug with a team of horses and “fresno” or dirt scoop. Stone for the fireplace was from Abo Canyon, near Mountainaire and the fireplace was built by Mr. John J. Jackson, a stone mason from Dundee Scotland. Above information came from Mr. W.J. Leverett, Jr. As the current owners, we truly love this home.
